Easter

We dyed eggs on Saturday out on the back porch. The girls could have done it for hours....if only we would have had lots more eggs. They did three dozen and they did a fine job with them.

Today we went to the early church service. I absolutely love our church and we wouldn't have missed Easter service for anything. You can view all of the services online. Just google Celebration Church Georgetown and you can watch online each week without leaving your home. Hunting eggs, pretty dresses and candy are fun we all know they aren't what Easter is all about. I'm so thankful that we have a church that fits well for us and has us wanting more. I look forward to watching my girls grow up in church and I pray they always put Jesus first in their life. What a great God we have.
After church we went to Mimi's for breakfast. It was delicious and it was the first time we've had to take the girls to a public potty. We didn't really try but I guess we have to officially say they are potty trained. They haven't had an accident in 3 days. They both made it out to dinner Saturday evening wearing their big girl panties and today Sarah refused to pee in her pull up and instead insisted that I take her to the restroom at Mimi's (we forgot the portable potty that we usually take with us in the Tahoe).
Once we got home they took a nap and then the Easter Bunny had hidden their eggs in the backyard. They got to hunt for the 3rd and final time this Easter. Can you tell they were both after the same egg in this next picture?

These girls are the light of my life. They looked so beautiful today. I opted not to get them a fancy Easter dress because I wanted something they could wear all summer. I loved these seersucker dresses and I got their name monogrammed on the bottom to make them special. These two may fight over toys or who gets to sit in which chair at the table but at the end of the day they love each other.

Karson's Birthday Party

Our friends, Dawn and Kevin, invited us out last weekend for their son, Karson's, 3rd birthday party. It was a baseball theme and it was a great time. The girls loved playing in their backyard and just had a blast. Dawn and Kevin are very special to us and so are their kids. I didn't get a picture of their daughter Megan but she's super cute.

Here's Karson and his awesome baseball cake.

The girls got baseball cards and they are checking them out here. They call them their "flashcards" but that works just as well.

They got to run around the bases and bat.

The trampoline was a big hit. Love these next two pictures....

Dawn and Kevin are really good people and we're so fortunate to have them as friends.

School Easter Party

The school Easter party was quick. Kristen didn't get too many eggs....before I could catch up with her she had already opened all of her eggs and was well into a pack of Nerds. Sarah didn't really care so much about the candy....she just wanted lots and lots of eggs.
They came back in and had snacks with their friends. It's amazing how they can get all of these kids to behave and listen at the same time.
Kristen doesn't realize that Addison will not be at school Monday (since she's starting her new school tomorrow). I'm afraid she's going to be devastated but hopefully we'll be in the new school within 3 weeks from now.

Hospital Easter Egg Hunt

The girls had a great time at the annual hospital Easter Egg Hunt. This year we had a train instead of the petting zoo and that seemed to be a much better option and a big hit with the kids. The girls are "professional" egg hunters......seriously, they are good and we have way too much candy to prove it.

Kristen opted not to get her photo made with the Easter Bunny again this year. She did wave really big and yelled "hi" to him from a distance though.

Checking out the goods.....

The train ride......you don't see a "kiddie express" driving around hospitals very often.

My Mom joined us and she went with Sarah to hunt and I was with Kristen. We also got to see our other twin friends, Madison and Alissa, there. The girls will soon start seeing lots more of Madison and Alissa because we are going to move the girls into a new school that just opened that is incredible. It's got an indoor gym, a library, an art room, a computer lab and a dance studio. It's really amazing. Madison and Alissa just started going there and the girls best friend, Addison, will start on Monday. We are thinking we will start mid April but the official start date still needs to be confirmed. We're excited.
After the hunt we went to dinner and then headed home to figure out a way to distract them from the candy. I was really glad my Mom joined us.....I love having her participate in fun events like this. My next post will be Easter Egg Hunt # 2 at school.

My Two Lucky Charms

These two may not be Irish but they are part Czech, German and Indian....who knew that combination would make such beautiful little people???

They have been so much fun lately. They are carrying on conversations with us, singing their favorite songs and just acting so incredibly grown up. It's amazing what all happens after they turn 2. I can't even imagine what 3 is going to be like.....I'm going to be blown away I can already tell.

What are they up to now?

They poop and pee on the potty the majority of the time, although, we're not really trying to potty train. We take them when they tell us but we aren't pushing it. I guess I'm just not in any hurry to get them to grow up. They are still in their cribs as well....for several reasons. They really don't need to be but I just can't see taking them out when sleep is going so well for us. I like the fact that I know they are safe and not wondering around, particularly since we have a two story house. I know time is about to run out very quick on this but I'm still enjoying it while I can make it last.

They like to pick out their clothes and PJ's every day and night. What girly girls they are.

They are also so logical. Last weekend we went to Mimi's for breakfast and when I went to get Sarah out of her car seat here's the conversation that took place....

Sarah: Mommy, my nose is running
Mommy: I wonder why it's still running?
Sarah: Because I still have boogers, that's why

Not sure why I didn't think of that before I asked.

Their favorite songs to sing are the ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Your Boat, and An Old Farmer (they renamed it this....it's really Old McDonald).

They know what a pentagon, octagon and hexagon are......who would have thought to teach that at this age....they clearly learned that at school and I cannot take credit.

They are deeply attached to their Nana. They do not want anything to do with us when Nana is here.

They are also deeply attached to Joe and really want him to do everything for them. Even though they want Daddy for everything they often tell me that I'm # 1, I'm the Queen and I'm the Super Mommy (all of my nick names).

Here are some pictures of the pretty little girls I'm lucky enough to have as daughters....

A Couple Of Cute Cowgirls

Today was a fantastic day. We took the girls to the rodeo fairgrounds and it was a BIG HIT. They absolutely had the best time and it seemed like we had to leave way too soon. We started out at Kidstown and they immediately wanted to ride the ponies. How could we say no? They did fantastic and they had this smirk on their faces the entire time telling us they loved every second of it.

We then hit the petting zoo.....lots of fun there.

We then found some precious pink and purple cowgirl hats that they absolutely fell in love with. They actually wore them all day and then even wore them in the backyard to play when we got home.

We also found giant lollipops....

I love this picture....check out Kristen's hat.

The last thing we did was ride the carousel.

The day was so much fun. I think we might want to go back next weekend to check out more of the animals we didn't get to see today.

Little Miss Kristen

We've had a rough week....too tired to blog about it right now but Kristen said something today that I wanted to document. It was rather bossy but cracked me up anyway.

At Target they both just had to have this little princess figure and they've been obsessed with them for the last two days. Sarah got frustrated because she didn't feel good and she tossed hers on the floor (not at Kristen....just dropped it). Here's what Kristen told her....

"Don't throw down the princess, Sarah. It's not funny and it's not nice. No more reading and no more playing. Don't bite, don't push, and don't throw down the princess. You hear me?"

Not sure where the reading, biting or pushing came into this. I think she just wanted to tell her not to do anything so she threw out everything she could think of.
