Sleepover

The girls had their 2nd sleepover yesterday night. Their friends, twins Madison & Alyssa, turned 7 and they had a slumber party to celebrate. K&S said they did arts/crafts, had a dance party and watched movies. These little girls are growing up before my eyes.

Soccer

The girls are getting better at soccer and Kristen is really trying hard. She's come a long way since the first couple of games and I'm very proud of her. The won the last game and they tied yesterday.

Hoedown

The girls elementary school had their Hoedown this past Friday night. It's basically a Fall Festival and the girls had a blast.

They came and helped me while I volunteered for the activity sponsored by their class. It was the "How's Your Aim" with toilets and toilet paper to toss. Maybe not very classy but the kids kept coming back for more because it was so much fun.

Sweet Berry Farm

Last weekend our Girl Scout Troop was supposed to go to Sweet Berry Farm but the rain caused us to cancel the trip. I'm so glad we could do a make up trip today.

First up - painting pumpkins

Kristen rode Puddin

Sarah rode Bonita

Love this picture. They did the maze by themselves. They split up right after I took this.
Sarah went left and Kristen went right. They apparently found each other about half way to the bell in the back.

And they enjoyed jumping on the trampoline

Seriously - could they be any more beautiful than they are?

And they fed the goats

And picked flowers

And wanted on tractors :-)

Girl Scouts - Ceramic Lodge

Our Girl Scout Troop was scheduled to go to Sweet Berry Farm today but the rain created a shift in plans. I thought our day would just be cancelled but they pulled together a last minute replacement activity to paint pottery at Ceramic Lodge. As luck would have it, Ceramic Lodge was closed to the public and only supporting Girl Scout activities today. We didn't know that but it worked out well. They painted bowls that can be auctioned off for a charity supporting the local food bank. The girls enjoyed it. Actually....so did I. I painted my own bowl. We love our Girl Scout Troop....love the moms and the girls. Joining this troop was one of the best decisions and I'm so glad we did it.

Soccer

Soccer started off beyond rocky this year with Kristen refusing to play in the first two games. This league is very different than the last one and she was very unsure of herself. They used terms for the various positions that she hadn't heard of before and she shut down when she wasn't sure. Last Wednesday she did great in practice and she participated in the game on Saturday. She did really well and seemed to enjoy it.
