Super Stars

Tonight was Show Night at Gymnastics so I snapped a few pictures of the girls. They got their blue "Super Star" ribbon and their certificate for completing the class. Sarah is getting pretty good at her front rolls on the small balance beam and did it several times without falling off. Sarah is also really good at jumping off the track, landing on her feet and saying "Ta Da" with her arms in the air. Kristen is extremely good on the jumping track and the balance beam. She can walk backwards really well on the small beam! They both still really enjoy gymnastics and I think it's great for them in so many ways.
I'm very proud of these girls!

Grandpa With The White Whiskers

My Dad and Cheree came for a visit this past Sunday. The girls were very excited to see their Grandpa with the white whiskers (as Kristen calls him). It's usually Sarah that is glued to him and wants to sit in his lap but this time it was Kristen that really wanted to be close to him. They really love him and they were both so happy to see him.

Daddy's Birthday

Joe celebrated his birthday this week and it has got the girls really pumped up about their birthday party. It's 3 weeks away and they are READY. He also got to enjoy lunch with Katie, Galen, Angela, Matt & Suni. We love our Daddy!

I had to add the picture below because I love it. This was as we were leaving church a couple of weeks ago. The girls wanted their Daddy......

Kristen's Art Work

Kristen really loves to draw. The other day she took this turtle toy and drew it. There is an ant, bee, cat and dog in the picture and she drew in each one. This girl loves art!

Fun Saturday

The girls were ready to get out of the house today so we went to see Cars 2. Afterwards we went to the Salt Lick in Round Rock because it seems that Sarah either wants to eat BBQ or eat at the salad place (Jason's Deli). She really only wants the salad place because they have good muffins on the salad bar and they have frozen yogurt.....she's a smart girl.

Kristen loves identifying flags and she requested to get her picture made in front of this framed Texas Flag while at Salt Lick. She doesn't even realize that her momma loves flags too.

Then we headed to get a sno cone because it sounded like the perfect idea when it's over 100+ outside. Can you tell Kristen enjoyed it? She was chugging the juice at the bottom of her cup.

These girls make every day wonderful.

Pretty Little Ears

The girls had a quick ear surgery on Thursday to remove a tube from one ear that never fell out. They got their tubes about 2 1/2 years ago and they each had one fall out as it should but one didn't. Luckily the remaining tube never bothered Kristen but it actually caused Sarah lots of pain. We went back to the ENT and discovered that it needed to be surgically removed because it wasn't going to come out on its own. So we had the surgery to make sure we could put ear tubes behind us. It's an easy procedure and they were great little patients. The doctor said that Kristen's tube was actually difficult to remove so she was sore and it did bleed some. The hard part is they cannot get their ears wet for 3 weeks while the ear drum heals up.
One interesting thing about this entire ordeal is that it happened to their opposite ears. Kristen's was her left and Sarah's was her right.....what are the odds.

This is Sarah pre-op....she knew something was up.

This is Kristen pre-op....she was much more interested in the toys

On our way home....

My Two Firecrackers

Firecracker....what an appropriate description for two very active 3 year olds! They are a little crazy, a lot rambunctious, way sassy, and the most beautiful little girls I've ever seen. I love these little ladies.

Fun Days

On Saturday we went to Matt & Angela's for a visit. Granny Katie and Galen were there and the girls got to visit with Suni. Kristen is particularly interested in Suni and wanted to hold her baby cousin. Dan and Alissa joined us so it was a bonus to get to see them the same day. The girls enjoyed playing with Ainsley but they haven't yet met baby Ben. They were so excited to see their friend that little Ben didn't get any attention from the big girls. I think next time when there aren't as many people there that they will be all over Ben and want to hold him and give him hugs.

On Sunday we had our neighbors, Paul and Jen, over for dinner and to let the kids play in the blow up pool. They have a little boy, Thomas, that the girls absolutely love him so it made for a fun evening. Paul and Jen also have a baby that isn't quite a year old yet.

We made lots of food and enjoyed great company just hanging out in the backyard.
What a wonderful weekend!

JW ~ Part 2

More pictures from our weekend at the JW

The one thing we didn't get a picture of was the girls riding the big water slide. The one they weren't really tall enough to ride but we took them anyway. They loved it!
