Easter Egg Hunt

We took the girls up to the hospital today for the Easter Egg Hunt and they each got one egg. When we gave it to them they held onto it and wouldn't let go. They both tried to eat their egg. We had fun and I look forward to next year when they will be able to walk around and hunt on their own.

The bunny was creepy but they didn't scream.

Life can change in an instant

I recently learned something that one of my employees has been struggling with the last several weeks. Susan works at the hospital with me and her daughter-in-law recently got diagnosed with Lymphoma. Her daughter-in-law is Lindsey and she lives in Michigan. Lindsey has two sons and the youngest is 7 months. I remember Susan telling me about the day her youngest grandson was born because I was very pregnant and knew my day would be coming soon. Please pray for Lindsey and her family. Her husband created a website for her to chronicle her experience.

7 months

7 months today - wow, I cannot believe it! Today we went to the park to meet our photographer to get more pictures made. Neither of the girls were excited about being there but hopefully we got some good shots. I'll post them as soon as Kathy gives me the CD. Sarah immediately starting crying when Kathy got there. I think they have stranger anxiety because they tend to do that every time someone new comes around.

I know I say this every month but I must say it again - I feel so lucky to have them. Having two little girls is the greatest gift and I love them with all of my heart. I also must say that Joe is an exceptional father. I can sum Joe and the girls up in 4 words - wrapped around his finger.
The girls have also been doing well with their baby food. So far we've only introduced carrots & sweet potatoes but tomorrow we'll start squash. They are getting very good at being fed with a spoon and they actually seem to like it. It's very messy but meal time is a lot of fun.
We've also quit using all baby products (lotions/shampoos/body wash). Dr. T recommended that we do that because Kristen has very sensitive/dry skin. She said that baby products really dry out the skin and aren't all that baby friendly. She recommended that we use we Dove soap and Lubriderm lotion. What a change it has made! I just wanted to share that for all the other new moms out there.

This picture shows how big they are getting!

My Girls

Kristen looked like a member of Cheetah Girls in her little outfit. We think it's actually PJ's but we decided to wear it today for fun. She's also getting much better at sitting up. It won't be long and she'll have it mastered. Kristen is a great baby. She's so happy and my heart melts every time I look at her.

Here's Daddy kissing on Kristen. Both girls love it when he kisses their check and neck because it tickles them. They just laugh and laugh each time he does it.

This afternoon we sat on the back porch since the weather was nice. I'm not sure this picture really captures it but Sarah's eyes are the most beautiful blue I've ever seen. When you look at them outside they're just amazing. Sarah's are a darker blue and Kristen's are a lighter blue.....they are both beautiful.

Fun Day

Today we went to lunch with Nana and afterwards we went to a baby specialty store in downtown Georgetown. We got some new headbands and bows. Nana got the girls a bunny rabbit that they discovered in the store and just had to have. Joe is the one who actually found the rabbit first. He picked it up and Sarah immediately started laughing at it and shoving it into her mouth....I guess if you try to eat it you should buy it. Here's a picture of Kristen examining her bunny rabbit.

Nana also got the girls a teddy bear that sings. They had one on display and it was a big hit for the girls so we had to get that as well. This place has a ton of cute things. You can check out their website at http://www.justkiddsandmore.com/.
This afternoon we went on a walk around our neighborhood. The girls love the Baby Bjorn so we strapped them in and took off. They love it! I guess it's fun for them because they can see everything.
Here's some pictures of the girls today. Aren't they the sweetest little things ever? I think so.
The girls have also discovered the cats. They both just watch them and laugh. Last weekend at Angela's house Sarah laughed like crazy over her dogs. Animals apparently just crack them up. Here's a picture of Sarah petting Simba for the first time.

Other news ~ Joe and I have sold our house. We recently put it up for sale and it sold in 2 weeks. We will need to be out by April 18th but we'll probably move out the weekend before. Most of you know that 2 years ago we bought a piece of property in Georgetown with the intention of building a house. We still want to do that but we're not sure where Joe will get the time right now. He dedicated a lot of time to building my Mom's house and although it turned out fabulous it was still a huge commitment of time. It was manageable pre-babies but things have definitely changed. For Joe to build us a house would require a lot of evenings and weekends to be spent overseeing it. We talked about it and we want to put those plans on hold for now so Joe doesn't miss any time with the girls. We will look at doing it when they get a little older. In the meantime, we're going to have another house built in a nearby neighborhood. It will give us the space that we need but not require the time commitment. Joe says he will watch the builder closely so things get done to his expectations (his high expectations).

Toes, Sunglasses & High Chairs

On Saturday we met Angela, Galen and Grandma Katie for lunch. We went to lunch at Uncle Billy's BBQ on Barton Springs Road. I think it must be a new place because I had never heard of it before but lunch was very good and the weather was perfect. Aunt Angela got the girls some sunglasses so we were trying them out since we were sitting outside. Very cute!

Both Kristen & Sarah have discovered their feet. They both started grabbing their feet in the last week but Kristen is now sucking her toes. They are very cute toes!! Sarah is also rolling over a lot. Kristen first rolled over more than a month ago but now that she's done it she doesn't seem interested in continuing to do it. Kristen is actually starting to get up on her knees and it makes me think she will start crawling very soon.

We have also transitioned from feeding them in the bumbo chairs to feeding them in the high chairs. We bought the high chairs from one of our neighbors who has twin girls that are now 2. She sold them to us for $50/pair....yeah!

Today we went to church and we dropped the girls off in baby church for the first time. We usually keep them with us and go to the Video Venue so we can feed them if needed. After last Sunday we decided that we needed to make a change because they have been talking all through the service and I'm sure it's distracting for everyone else.
Each child is assigned a number when you check them in the nursery. If the nursery needs the parents during the service they put the number at the bottom of the big screen to communicate it. They will do this if the baby is really unhappy and they need assistance. A number flashed up today but luckily it wasn't ours. Not sure whose it was but I don't think they ever went to check on their child because the number kept coming up all through the service. Both girls seemed to like baby church so I think it will work out well. After church we went to Nana's house for lunch. Nana had all sorts of food for us and gave us a bunch of leftovers....Joe just enjoyed some of the leftovers for dinner as well.
