Very First Slumber Party

These girls are inseparable. Our dear friend, Allison, is moving to North Carolina this upcoming week and we will miss her and her daughter, Olivia. Samantha's birthday party was scheduled for the end of the month; however, Dawn moved it to Saturday when she learned that Olivia would already be gone by then. Samantha had her heart set that her friend needed to be there. Dawn scratched her original plans and planned a slumber party. I didn't think the girls were quite ready but I knew they couldn't miss this last time with their friend. Dawn was amazing and thought of everything. They did crafts, painted nails, Wii dance games and watched movies....oh, and stayed up until midnight. This morning she took them all to the movies. They had a blast and did great. I'm going to miss Olivia and Allison.....

Lake Austin Spa

I got to use my Christmas present on Saturday (a gift certificate) and it was amazing. The Lake Austin Spa is just an incredible place. Period. There isn't anything better. I have learned over the years that this place is best enjoyed by staying all day. I spent 9 hours there and it was pure bliss. I got an hour long facial and then I had 2 treatments for different massages. They had a 30 minute break in between but it was the same massage therapist. He asked me if I just wanted to skip the break and turn it into one big treatment. Yes, please. That man massaged me for 2 1/2 hours. I have NEVER been so relaxed. Seriously! It was amazing and I felt pampered. I spent an hour in the hammock and at least an hour or longer by the pool. I had lunch and lounged around wherever looked good. I love this place.

Canyon of the Eagles (Friday)

On Friday afternoon we headed out to Canyon of the Eagles for the weekend. I randomly found this place and had never heard of it before. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was fabulous. It's quiet, not crowded and very relaxing.

The sunset was beautiful

And they discovered they love checkers

Canyon of the Eagles (Saturday)

Saturday was a very full and very fun day. We went on a short hike, which the girls loved. They love the outdoors and I think they could have stayed for days longer.

They swam.....seriously, can they get any prettier???

They jumped, and jumped and jumped...into the pool.

I tried to do most of this....

 We went kayaking

And we enjoyed a good dinner, live music and another beautiful sunset.

Canyon of the Eagles (Sunday)

On Sunday we got up and went fishing. They didn't catch anything but they now have their very own fishing poles and they also practiced casting it. They did great! After fishing we went back for another swim before heading home.  Yes, Sarah has 2 band aids on her knees....she tripped as we were walking down to the dock to kayak the day before and skinned up her knees.

A man with three boys came up shortly after we did. They saw the boys get in the water to fish....so they naturally felt they needed to do the same.

July 4th Party

Love these girls....

Kristen's art work

Sarah's art work

Nicole invited us over to her house for a 4th of July party. It was fabulous....lots of food, great conversations and a fun night. We didn't take the camera but I did snap some with my phone.

This picture reminded me of a college party but with little people....they all kept hanging out in the hot tub.

When it got dark we did sparklers. They freaked the girls out a little bit because I have them trained to be scared of fire.

July 4th Parade

We did not plan on attending the parade in downtown Round Rock; however, a friend of mine called the day before to let me know his daughter was asked to participate in the parade. She was recently in a pageant and he rented a red mustang to drive her in the parade. I wanted to go so we got up early on July 4th and headed into downtown Round Rock. I have no idea why we've never been before but it was fantastic. Most the floats in the parade would toss candy to the crowd and the girls loaded up on a huge stash of candy (none of which we need).

This is Natasha. Her dad is driving and her brother is also in the car. Her dad is a very close friend of mine.
