Bulls Tie

The Bulls tied today so that gives us only one loss and now one tie game. These kids are doing so great and get better every week. Fun stuff!

Trick-Or-Can

Today was a wonderful day. I did the Heart Walk 5k downtown first thing in the morning and our company raised lots of money for the American Heart Association. I then headed back home to pick up the girls to meet their Daisy troop for Trick-Or-Can. They collected 100 food items over the last several weeks to donate to the local food bank.  Once they dropped off the donations, they were able to help sort all of the different types of food. It was a great experience for us and I was incredibly proud of them.

When we got home we carved our pumpkins. Sarah wanted to carve a kitty cat and Kristen picked out a ghost. I think they turned out great!

Sweet Berry Farm

Pumpkin picture overload!! We spent Saturday at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls. The weather called for lots of rain but it wasn't expected until late afternoon. I'm so glad we still went because it was perfect weather and not very crowded.

We painted pumpkins, we fed the goats, we did the maze, we cut fresh flowers and the girls jumped on this new trampoline type thing. Joe had the homemade pumpkin ice cream and I had the strawberry. The girls both enjoyed homemade strawberry popsicles. It was a perfect day. Absolutely perfect.

We love this place and this is definitely something we look forward to each year!

We did the Candy Corn maze through the corn field. I am so glad we went with them because we all got turned around in the corn. We finally found the bell in the back of the maze and they enjoyed ringing it.

Daisy Investiture Ceremony

Kristen & Sarah had their second girl scout meeting this afternoon. The parents were invited at the end of the meeting for a ceremony to induct all of the Daisies into the world of Girl Scouts. They received a new pin, a new patch, a flower and a certificate.

Each girl added a section of the Daisy (below)....

Sarah getting her pin

Someone likes getting their picture made in public.....Sarah! :-)
She seriously stood there and flashed this huge smile for a long time.

New friends. Only one little girl is in their class so most of these girls
are new friends from Kindergarten, which is good.

The daisy is what they made during their troop meeting. They traced their hands/fingers to make it.

New pin & patch. They also earned the center patch of the daisy.

Troop shirts (one for me too)

Girl Scouts - Daisy Troop

I'm late posting this but Kristen & Sarah had their very first Girl Scout Daisy troop meeting last weekend. It was just the introduction meeting so they could meet the other girls (they have 14 total in the troop) and it was at the troop leaders home. They learned the Girl Scout Promise, painted pumpkins and met new friends.

The Girl Scout Promise

To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
