Christmas At My Mom's

The day after Christmas we went to my Mom's house and had lunch with my mom, Jimmy, Michelle, Casey, Trish and Brooke. The girls got lots more presents and we all had a nice time.

The girls got a Tinker Bell from my mom and that made Tinker Bell #3 (Santa brought one and my Dad brought one). I had suggested that we exchange it for something else since they already had two of them. Sarah decided she didn't want to and wanted to keep it....since Nana got it for her. I realized it wasn't really about Tinker Bell but she didn't want to take back anything her Nana got her. I'm not sure when these little girls grew up and became so wise but I'm pretty sure it happened in the blink of an eye.

Kristen had a moment on Christmas Day when my Dad was visiting. He brought the girls gifts and they started opening them. Kristen then stood up, put her presents down, walked over to me and asked where Grandpa's gift was. She then went and got it and gave it to him. She seemed happy once he had something to open as well. She was so sweet about it.

They of course act like any other 3 year old with their meltdowns, refusing to listen and hyperactive personalities but at the end of the day they have very tender hearts and I.LOVE.THEM.

Christmas Day & Santa Came!

The first thing the girls asked about when they woke up on Christmas morning was the reindeer food. They wanted to go downstairs to see if the reindeer food was gone. We went to the front door and looked out the window of the door to check on the food and sure enough....the reindeer food was all gone. Santa came! They then wanted to see if Santa ate the cookies they left by the tree and they were also gone. They were so excited knowing that Santa and his reindeer enjoyed the treats they left for them.

Then they finally noticed the presents.....Santa brought the girls exactly what they asked for. They both asked for a big girl bike. Kristen asked for a Tinkerbelle and Sarah asked for an Ariel. Santa brought Sarah a Tinkerbelle as well and Kristen got a Jasmine doll. Their bike is pink and purple and has all of the princesses on it. It's already proven to be lots of fun.

After checking out Santa's gifts the girls got to open presents from Mommy & Daddy. They got lots of games, puzzles, coloring books, another doll each, books and a dollhouse. Very lucky little girls!

One game they saw on TV and have been asking for was Hungry Hungry Hippo. They have probably played with that one game so far more than any of their other gifts.

My Dad came over on Christmas Day and had lunch with us, visted with the girls and helped them make a gingerbread house. They really enjoyed seeing their Grandpa. He must love them an awful lot to drive all of this way for a few hours before he had to head home. They sure are lucky little girls to have so many people who love them.

That evening the girls wanted to deliver the gift they got for our neighbor's kids, Grace & Evan. Dave & Sue had several of the other neighbors over so they invited us in. We enjoyed a glass of wine with them while the girls played. Then we headed home and all four of us wanted nothing more than to go to sleep since we were all beat. Christmas was a success and lots of memories were made. This was a fantastic year for us!

Gymnastics Gear

These were supposed to be a Christmas gift but we forgot to check the mail and they were apparently sitting there the entire time. Oh well. We got them today and tried them on first thing and of course they were so precious. We have been on a waiting list at Capital Gymnastics and they called today saying one slot opened up for Thursdays but I passed because it would be torture to only let one participate while the other sat in the lobby with me....wouldn't that be just awful???

Another location of Capital has two spots open for Saturdays so I think I'm going to grab them since their classes at The Little Gym are about to end. They sure love going so I'm willing to do it as long as they say they want to.

Sarah asked me to take this picture of her new dollhouse....just because

Christmas Eve

Katie came over for a visit on Christmas Eve and went to church with us. My Mom met us there as well and it was a very nice Christmas service that even had snow and candlelight. We've been talking to the girls about the meaning of Christmas. They will tell you that it's Jesus' birthday and they understand that Christmas is his birthday party.

They looked beautiful in their gold dresses and they sure enjoyed wearing them. I love that they love being a girly girl. Christmas Eve was an exceptional day.

Cookies For Santa & Food For The Reindeer

On the morning of Christmas Eve we started making our Christmas cookies and the girls were super excited. They've made cookies several times at school so they knew exactly what they were doing and they were both giving me directions on how to do it since they were pros. They would take turns rolling and cutting out a cookie and kept talking about Santa the entire time.

After church they got to decorate the cookies they made that morning. They were very colorful and perfect!

Here's the final product from the cookie decorating.

And these are the ones they decided to leave for Santa....

The girls made reindeer food out of oatmeal and sprinkles and they wanted to leave it out on the porch for Santa's reindeer....wonderful idea because reindeer get hungry while waiting on Santa to put out all of the toys.

These girls were full of anticipation and excitement for what was to come the next morning.
They are very blessed little girls and they make their mommy so happy.
