Girl Scout Daisy Meeting

Today the girls learned all about respect and we had a police officer attend the meeting. The officer explained his job, why it is important and how he helps people. The officer took the girls outside and let them get in his car, try to hold his bullet proof vest and gave them their very own badge and a Frisbee. They all absolutely loved hearing all about it and truth be told....so did I. He did a great job!

We took a picture of the troop in front of his car......this picture cracks me up because they are all squinting since they were in the sun.

We also had a brownie troop attend the meeting and they did a skit about respect. The brownies also helped our troop make a "sit upon" for camp next weekend. Afterwards we made s'mores but heated up the marshmallows in the microwave....oh well, it was all in the spirit of getting ready for camp next weekend. I actually think I'm more excited than K&S....possibly because I've read through the agenda and it is going to be awesome.

The moment we walked in from the meeting, they were in the backyard and running through the sprinkler. These girls have my heart....love them.

UT Softball

This afternoon we went to the UT softball game for Scout Day. Any Girl or Boy Scout who wore their uniform got a special UT Athletics patch. They wore it just to get the batch and they sported their UT orange. Kristen really wasn't all that interested in softball but Sarah seemed to enjoy it and didn't want to leave. We didn't stay for the entire game but it was fun and we're glad we went. Afterwards, we went to Hula Hut for dinner and took advantage of being in downtown. The girls ONLY want to eat outside at Hula Hut, which cracks me up that they know exactly what they want....the little things.

Daisy Ice Cream Social

The girls Girl Scout troop did an Ice Cream Social tonight with two other troops from their elementary school. It was fun because they knew lots more girls at the meeting tonight. They made headbands and had every option imaginable for their ice cream sundaes. Fun stuff.

Walking to the meeting....

Dell Diamond

Last Tuesday, we took the girls to the baseball game at the Dell Diamond. The tickets were part of a PTA fundraiser and it makes for a fun evening. The girls loved the general admission area because they could run and roll down the hill with their friend, Elle. They did ask me when the game was going to start. I told them it had started and was in fact the 4th inning. They then looked at me and said baseball was boring. For a boring game, they sure had lots of fun.

A Great Day

Today was a really great day. Nothing scheduled and we had the entire day devoted to spending time with the girls. We went to the park and had a picnic. Kristen can go across the monkey bars all by herself, which blew me away at how big she is. It was the first time she could do it by herself and she did it over and over again. Sarah isn't quite strong enough just yet but she's getting close. They played and played.....they were happy.

Later in the day we jumped on the trampoline and then rode bikes/scooters. We also played on the swing set. I knew they were going to be worn out.......they were.

Kristen & Sarah,

Thank you for such a wonderful day. You girls are amazing, beautiful and an absolute joy. I love every minute with you and I am incredibly proud to be your mother.

Easter

The Easter Bunny came early this morning. I could hear the girls talking when they came downstairs and checking out what was in their Easter baskets. A minute later I could tell they were looking out of the window to see if the bunny hid any eggs and they said they could see some from the back door.

They had a fun time hunting for eggs and this year the bunny left so many that they were in the front and back yard.

After the egg hunt we got ready for church. They wanted to wear the new dresses that Nana got them and they looked so beautiful in them. Seriously, they are the most beautiful girls I've ever seen.

Church was fantastic....so glad we centered our day around it. The girls enjoyed it as well....they always do. They had kids church in this big tent and all of the grades were combined together. They had their own stage with their own band. They apparently also had a juggler and someone riding a unicycle....they must keep their attention.

When church was over, we ran into the Easter Bunny in church parking lot. Kristen announced in the car on the way home that it wasn't the real Easter Bunny. She told us that it's just someone wearing a bunny suit. She explained that the real Easter Bunny is like magic and comes while everyone sleeps.
