New Swing Set

The girls got a new swing set last weekend and they love it. We sold the old on on Craig's list and actually sold quite a few other things on Craig's list as well. The girls got in the spirit of selling things they don't use or need any more so they could save up their money for the new swing set. The came up with about half of the money needed for the new swing set....not too bad.

They've also been busy coloring rainbows and pots of gold with sidewalk chalk.

Catching Up

The last several weekends have been so nice because we haven't had anything planned. No birthday parties, no places we have to be, and nothing that absolutely needed to be done. It's been wonderful.

We spent most of Saturday at home since it rained all day. All four of us took naps, played xbox kinect, and played games. We did venture out in the rain to go out for breakfast, a trip to HEB, and to Barnes & Noble. The girls each picked out several books and we've spent the last day reading them over and over.
While we were leaving Barnes & Noble, Sarah pointed at a nearby restaurant and said it was "Apple Fields". It was actually Applebee's. They've never been there so I'm not sure how she knew that other than maybe seeing a commercial on TV. Kristen then asked her if she could read and Sarah responded that she could indeed read. Kristen then burst into tears because she couldn't read yet. I told her that Sarah just recognized the sign and not to worry....they are both getting very close to reading. They want to read so badly and Kristen just couldn't bear it if Sarah could read and she couldn't.

The rain finally cleared up today and I was able to take a picture of the most beautiful little blue eyed and green eyed girls ever.

Thing 1 & Thing 2

The past week at school has been all about Dr. Seuss and I think today is Dr. Seuss' actual birthday. Last week the girls class went to Whole Foods to see the Art on 5th street exhibit, which was all of Dr. Seuss' illustrations on display. On Monday they made homemade green eggs and ham and today was dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character. I of course had to do Thing 1 and Thing 2 since it was perfect for them. They wanted me to paint their hair blue but I opted for a blue bow instead. They had a fantastic day and they looked so cute!

These next pictures have absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Seuss but I haven't posted in awhile and they were still on my phone. Sarah just had to have me take a picture of her in her hat.....beautiful girl.

This picture is of Kristen's eyelashes.....can you see them? They are so long and I love them. I snapped this picture when she was napping one day. I think mine are only half of that size!

Our Two Little Valentine's

These are the valentines that Kristen & Sarah made for their classmates.

And these are the Valentines that we gave them. They got a heart notebook, a magnetic notepad, some candy, and a Brighton charm. Joe got the charm for the girls so they can add it to the charm bracelet he got them last Valentine's Day. This year they got a heart charm with a pink stone for Kristen and a purple stone for Sarah. They loved them!

Our beautiful girls modeling their bracelets

Kristen also made me a valentine picture of our family. I loved it!

A couple of daddy's girls

They made these hand valentines for us. One side said "I love you" and then they pull apart to say so much. We'll forever treasure them.

The Park

After the girls woke up from their nap we went to the park in our neighborhood. It was really cold out so we didn't stay too long but they love playing outside. Afterwards we came home and finished making valentines that they will give to friends at school next week. I can't believe it's already Valentine's Day....the year is going by way too fast!

The Best Girls

The girls friends are all starting to turn 5 and it makes me so sad to think about how quickly they are growing up. We are luckily still 6 months away but I'd give anything for time to slow down. I absolutely love this age!! Although they have their moments, Kristen and Sarah are so sweet and loving and an incredible amount of fun. My heart swells watching them and I love them so much.

Today in particular was a great day. They just woke up really happy and sweet. Today was Pajama Day at school and they had a new pair of pajamas they were dressed in. During breakfast, Sarah ended up spilling her entire bowl of cereal all over her brand new (and clean) pajamas. I thought for a second that the day was going to be rough but we hand-washed them real quick and tossed them in the dryer. They dried just in time to head out so it didn't impact our day one bit. During all of this the girls started playing Hide N Seek in the house with each other. The next thing I know is I hear them reading stories and singing in the living room. I walked in there to see what they were doing and and they had Chip & Dale all tucked into a little bed they made. They were reading bedtime stories and signing lullabies to Chip & Dale....so sweet.  The pink slipper was Chip & Dale's pretend table with water on it (the girls like to put a little table by their bed for their water each night).

On the way to school they held hands all the way there. Don't get me wrong, they fight like crazy little beasts but luckily when it happens it's short lived and they get back to being sweet. Today they were sweet every single second.

Here they are tonight before bath, wearing the PJ's they wore to school. These girls are full of personality and have such tender hearts. I am so proud to be their mom!
