The girls had asked months back if they could have a ballerina birthday party. It sounded like a great idea but it was actually hard finding a spot to host the party. Most of the dance studios I called had end of summer recitals on the weekends so they were unavailable. I finally found a location and we had a plan!
It was such a fun theme, although Kristen has told me that she really doesn't want to do dance anymore and she would rather switch to soccer. I'm good with that but we still had a ballerina birthday party to throw!
The cakes turned out cute but the best part was they were actually really good. Sarah wanted a lemon cake and Kristen wanted a strawberry cake, which is the reason they will always have their own individual birthday cake. We had chocolate, vanilla and strawberry cupcakes for our guests.
Their guests included: Nana, Auntie Angela, Matt, Hannah, Suni, Emma, Kristin, Samantha, Olivia, Vennja, Elizabeth, Avery, Ainsley, Sydney, Marley, Sofia and Thomas. The only boy they wanted to invite was Thomas. They love that little guy.
They both did really well learning the dance but Sarah was especially into it. I think Kristen didn't feel the need to "perform" it when they had just completed it during the practice part. It was really cute watching all of the little girls dance.
I made tutus for each guest. It was cute but way time consuming when I needed to make 15 of them. Joe even now knows how to make a tutu because I needed his help to get them done this week. They were super easy and way cute when everyone wore them. Sarah specifically asked for a rainbow tutu and Kristen said she also wanted one. It's not exactly a full rainbow but it was pink, purple, blue and green. They both told me they really loved them so at least it was all worth it.
To be continued....
