Galveston & Moody Gardens

Last week the girls and I went to Galveston for a couple of days before school started. We got there on Monday early evening (after the American Girl Store stop). First up was swimming, then s'mores, then dinner and outside games.

On Tuesday we went back to the water park at Moody Gardens and then met Dad and Cheree for lunch at Pleasure Pier. After lunch we took a few pictures on the beach and then we all went to the Aquarium at Moody Gardens and also the IMAX.

After they headed back home, we went back to the pool. This time they wanted to just go to the hotel pool, which is just a standard pool. Kristen was fascinated by the swim up bar, although we didn't actually swim up to order anything. :-)

On Wednesday we spent most of the day at the water park but headed in early afternoon to change and get ready for an early dinner. We went downtown to a place called the Gumbo Bar for dinner. Oh my word....it was delicious. I had crab meat gumbo and some fried pickles. So incredibly good.

After dinner we headed to the beach. The girls absolutely love the ocean and the sand. Lots of fun was had and my car got very sandy. :-)

We had a wonderful week together and Moody Gardens is definitely a place we want to go back to. We intentionally didn't see all of the exhibits to ensure we make another trip. These girls have my heart and I love them so very much.
