Joe's Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was Joe's birthday and we celebrated him turning 41. I got Joe tickets to the Eagles concert in September for his birthday gift. It's in San Antonio and Danyelle and Terry will be joining us that night.

On Joe's birthday we met up with Katie, Galen and Angela at Hula Hut for lunch. We all had a very nice time and the girls liked it as well. There was a little boy sitting at the table next to us and Kristen and Sarah both wanted to interact with him. They also waved at another little girl across the restaurant. They are both so curious of other kids.

After lunch we went to our neighborhood pool for the first time. Luckily, a birthday party had just ended so the pool wasn't crowded. The girls liked the baby pool the best so they could splash around.

On Sunday we met Dan, Alissa and Ainsley for lunch. We haven't seen them since Ainsley was born so our visit was long overdue. Ainsley has grown so much and I can't wait until she's big enough so they can all play together.

11 months

I cannot believe the girls are already 11 months and that they are just weeks away from a birthday.

Here's what they've been up to.....

Kristen is extremely active. She can crawl so fast and is super quick in general. Kristen is fearless! She can stand for a few seconds by herself and can walk across the room if you hold her hands to guide her. She loves to drink water, she can feed herself cheerios very well and she loves her baby food. The other day she even had avocado for the first time and really liked it. Kristen loves her sister and is a very happy baby. She loves getting in the water and she loves the cats. She is an early riser most days but I like it because I get to spend one on one time with her every day. Kristen loves to have her teeth brushed and will open her mouth wide to let you brush them. Kristen can wave hi and bye and she even said "bye bye" to my Mom as she left the other day.

Sarah has a very sweet demeanor. She loves to be held and her smile just melts you. Sarah does an army crawl but now she's starting to crawl properly. Sarah loves her little plastic ducks, being in the water, books and any toy that plays music. Sarah can also feed herself cheerios but she was not that crazy about the avocado she tried at dinner a couple of days ago. Sarah loves having her teeth brushed but she bites down on the toothbrush so we must be quick. Sarah can also wave hi and bye and her favorite word is DaDa.

Swinging

We took the girls to the park this morning and they were able to enjoy the baby swing there. They also enjoyed watching the other kids play and they just laughed and laughed. They had such a good time and didn't want to leave. We had to promise them we would take them back soon.

10 months

I'm a little late posting 10 month pictures but better late than never. The girls are doing great and seem to be growing up before my eyes. They are now mobile and have become so engaging. Kristen can also stand on her own for a few seconds without any help. Sarah is now doing an army crawl and can get anywhere she wants to go. They have both started to wave hi and bye, which is so cute to watch. It's also quite obvious how much they love each other. Tonight they got into a laughing frenzy playing with each other.....it melts my heart to watch them interact like this. They also love the cats. They love to try and pet the cats or just watch them watch by. Each time the girls will laugh and squeal with excitement. Kristen says Ba Ba, Bu Bu and Da Da. Sarah says all of this and more. They both love to do Pat A Cake and love their music CD's. These girls are beautiful, smart and so special.
I love my babies!

I love this picture so I just had to post it. The picture captures how much fun they were having that morning.

Red, White & Blue

We're moved into our new house and we're back online. This has been one crazy week but we're making a lot of progress getting everything in order. The house turned out very nice and we're excited to have all of the extra room. We really enjoyed living out at my Mom's because she took such good care of us. Her house isn't very far and we still get to see her everyday, which is great.
Yesterday we worked in the house and went to my Mom's for dinner with my brothers, Tricia and my niece Brooke. Here's a current picture of Brooke ~ she's already 2 months old.

Best Daddy Ever

I just wanted to post a picture of Joe with his girls. He is so good.....these girls just simply couldn't ask for a better Daddy. Joe can calm or comfort them when no one else can. Joe gets up every night (usually several times) to check on them if one of them stirs. He'll pat their back or anything to help them get comfortable and fall back asleep and he does this so willingly each night. He changes more than his half of the poopy diapers. He actually likes to dress them in all of the girly clothes and hair accessaries. He loves to play with them and teach them new things. He'll do the right thing with them even if it's hard. I could go on and on but the most important thing is he loves them unconditionally, which is all we could ask for. We are all so lucky to have him.

For Father's Day we also drove to visit Joe's Dad. His brothers were there as well so we were able to catch up with everyone. Here's a picture of our visit....

Our House

We are scheduled to close on our house this Friday afternoon. Our plan is to move everything out of our storage units this weekend and start the unpacking process. We'll work on it all weekend and after work in the evening until it's all finished. We're in no rush to move from my Mom's so we don't plan to move in until everything is unpacked and ready to go. It's been very nice being at my Mom's....we're very lucky to have her living here now.
