My Valentine's

I sure have enjoyed the weekend and today with my Valentine's. On Sunday Joe brought out 3 gifts...one for each girl in the house and they were all three from Brighton. :-)  Joe got the girls a little charm bracelet and it was so precious because it's their first piece of good jewelry. Sarah's had a "S" charm and a purple heart and Kristen's had a "K" charm and a pink heart. They loved the bracelets and it was so thoughtful of Joe....he planned that all by himself.

Joe got me something beautiful as well and sent cookies and strawberries to the hospital today for all of us to enjoy. If that wasn't enough he said he's taking me to see Reckless Kelly in Gruene later this month. For my birthday we were supposed to go to Reckless Kelly during our San Antonio trip but the show was sold out. He couldn't believe it because Gruene rarely sells out but it happened. This time he bought advance tickets and I'm so excited to hear my favorite band. I'm a lucky girl...no doubt. I don't really deserve Joe but I'm so glad I have him. He's the absolutely best father I could have ever hoped for, my best friend, and my love.

Today was their Valentine Party at school and their wore their cute red dresses.
They exchanged valentines with all of their friends and snacked on strawberries.
Happy Valentine's Day

So Cool I Gotta Wear Shades

I took these pictures on the way to and from Ainsley's birthday party last weekend. I still want to post pictures from Ainsley's fun party but I thought I would share these. The sleeping one was on the way to the party since it was their regular nap time and the others were on the way home. On the way home we stopped at Hula Hut for dinner so they were refueled and ready to go.

First Haircut

On Friday we took the girls to get their very first haircut.....at 3 1/2! Both of them had such long hair and I absolutely loved it but they have been asking to get it cut. Kristen tosses back and forth when she's falling asleep and it creates some serious tangles. She really doesn't like when we have to brush out the tangles so we wanted to get some of the length taken off. When Kristen's hair is wet it literally goes to the bottom of her back. They both got at least 4 inches cut and they did so well. They got a ribbon in their hair, a surprise at the end and a lollipop so it was a successful trip. They even got fairy dust sprinkled in their hair!

Very First Tea Party

Today the girls went to Olivia's 4th birthday party and it was a Tea Party. They got to play musical chairs, Duck Duck Goose, decorate tiaras, dress up and enjoy the tea party. The girls had a lot of fun playing with their friends and the party was such a neat idea. One of their teachers from school, Ms. Natalie, even came and she was a huge hit. Natalie isn't their teacher any longer because she went part-time and now works with the after school kids. They all loved her so it was really great to see her there.

Here's Kristen with Sam, Sacchi and Olivia

Snow Day

The girls got to play in the little snow that we got on Friday. We told them that there might be snow before they went to bed the night before and that was the first thing they checked on when they woke up. It was like Christmas all over again! I had to go into work since the hospital never closes but Joe got take the girls outside to play for a little bit. They had an absolute blast. Joe kept emailing me video and pictures during the day so it almost felt like I got to enjoy it as well.

My Embroidery Projects

Last weekend I did a Valentine t-shirt for Sarah (it's hanging in her closet so I didn't get a picture) and tonight I finally did one for Kristen. I'm getting the hang of my new sewing machine slowly but surely. These t-shirts are the first things they can actually wear and everything else has just been practice. I pulled out a few of their old shirts that were too small and practiced on them so I wouldn't waste good shirts. I also practiced on some bibs but they didn't turn out like I wanted so I think I'll try again this weekend.

CPS3

Today I signed up for something that I encourage everyone I know to look into and consider. It's the CPS3 Study through the American Cancer Society. You can learn more at www.cancer.org/cps3

This is something that requires little time commitment but a way that we can help with cancer research. I'm doing it in honor of Charlie.

You can sign up at www.seeyouthere.com/cps3enroll/austin

Think about it
