Look At Kristen

Kristen can now hold her head up for several minutes at a time. They've both been able to pick their head up and turn it from side to side but they couldn't really keep it up....not until last night. I'm sure Sarah will be right behind her because she's trying so hard. It was exciting to watch Kristen discover something new she could do.

2 Months Old

I cannot believe it but Sarah & Kristen are 2 months old. Today they visited the doctor for their 2 month well check and their first set of vaccinations. They each got 4 shots and screamed like crazy. Kristen went first and watching her cry like that brought tears to my eyes. Kristen now weighs 11 lbs 7 oz and Sarah weighs 9 lbs 12 oz.....they are getting so big!!!

Date Night

Last night Joe and I went on our first date since the girls were born. Nanci and Lynn work at the hospital with me and they offered to watch the girls for a few hours so we could go out alone. We went to our favorite restaurant and the food was fabulous. Nanci and Lynn did a great job but they did have me laughing when we got back. Nanci said she couldn't figure out how to get the diaper into the genie and Lynn couldn't figure out how to work the swing. Nanci has a grown daughter and Lynn has two teenagers so they said they didn't have all of these items when they had newborns. It was very nice of them to spend a Friday evening after a very long week at the hospital watching our babies. Thank you Nanci & Lynn! We were only gone a couple of hours but it's amazing how much you miss them even in a short amount of time.

Update

On Monday I had my last visit with my OB doctor. She's officially releasing me to my primary care physician so my blood pressure can continue to be monitored. I enjoyed being pregnant but I'm so glad it's over. I was only pregnant 8 months but a lot sure happened during that time. Crazy severe nausea, an amnio (technically two since one was done on each baby), countless ultrasounds and doctor visits, preeclampsia, three hospital admissions that totaled to 11 nights as a patient, steroid injections and an urgent c-section in which Joe barely made it for. All of it was worth it to have the two most beautiful little girls ever.....proof below. :)

Joe and the Girls

Doesn't Joe look cute spending time with two baby girls? I think so.

Being A Mom

The girls are doing great. I absolutely love being home with them and I'm enjoying every day. Being a mom is so much better than I ever imagined and it's all the more special with two. They had their first professional pictures taken this past weekend. We're going to do one more newborn photo session to try and get more pictures of them together. Sarah was wide awake through this last one and Kristen was sound asleep. We're going to try to get them either both awake or asleep for the next one. The girls also had several visitors lately. Nana, Charlie, Grandma Katie and Galen, Danyelle and Terry, Auntie Ang, Laura and Nanci all came by this past week. Thursday we're going out to lunch with Heather and it will be our first "real" outing without Joe's help. I've made quick trips out with them to the doctor and to HEB when disaster struck (I ran out of baby wipes) and it was much easier than I expected so taking them out to lunch should be a breeze. :)
